The Sa vz. 58 California Sporter DS utilizes 10 round double stack magazines. The Sporter DS takes advantage of the original receiver design as this model can be reloaded while the magazine remains inserted in the rifle (see thumbnail below showing stripper clip in place). The Sporter DS uses a magazine release that requires the use of a tool (magazine can be loaded when it has been removed from the rifle). . The recommended tool is the "needle" found in the provided cleaning kit (see center thumbnail below). The magazine release on the Sporter DS model cannot be manipulated by thumb or finger.
This rifle was imported into the United States as an Sa vz. 58 Sporter utilizing 10 round single stack magazines only. CzechPoint, Inc., in co-operation with local contractors, legally modifies the original vz. 58 Sporter into a rifle that accepts double stack magazines by ensuring the rifle has no more than 10 imported parts. This means that all vz. 58 rifles capable of using double stack magazines possess 5 USA made parts to fully comply with Title 18, U.S.C., Section 922(r). All D-Technic manufactured rifles are imported without flash hiders and bayonet lugs due to current US importation laws.
The five USA made parts on the vz. 58 California Sporter DS are: sear, disconnector (both made from metal – 4140 steel), trigger, magazine follower, and magazine floor plate (all made from polymer – Leona 90 G 60 and Zytel ST 801). All parts have been extensively test fired and passed without a single failure.
Each rifle is supplied with one 10 round magazine, three 10 round stripper clips, sling, cleaning kit and CD.

**The state of California may be an exception on the payment of tax and the FFL may charge state and local sales tax. All California customers are responsible for any and all taxes charged by the FFL.
Please note that we are unable to fill requests for a specific trigger guard, front sight, or sling swivel. Over the years, different trigger guards and sling swivels were manufactured as well as two different front sights (enclosed circle or ears protecting the front sight post). One is not better than the other – they are just slightly different.
